MINEOLA, N.Y. – The Drug Enforcement Administration, New York Division, Special Agent in Charge Raymond Donovan and Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas announced that the leader of MS-13’s Hollywood Clique on Long Island pleaded guilty yesterday to murder and conspiracy charges.

David Sosa-Guevara, also known as Risky, 28, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty yesterday before Judge Patricia Harrington to charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Conspiracy in the Second Degree. The defendant is expected to be sentenced to 24 years to life in prison on Jan. 24, 2020.

“This plea is indicative that DEA and its law enforcement partners will not stop the pursuit of justice. Sosa-Guevara’s admission of guilt reveals his true understanding of the overwhelming weight of evidence against him and his role as leader of MS-13’s Hollywood Clique,” said DEA New York Division Special Agent in Charge Raymond Donovan. “I would like to thank our many law enforcement partners, local, state, and federal, for all of the hard work and dedication that they have put forth into this long-term investigation.”

“David Sosa-Guevara was the leader of a murderous MS-13 clique on Long Island and personally ordered the killing of Angel Soler, a 15-year old child with his entire life ahead of him,” DA Singas said. “This defendant sanctioned numerous acts of violence and reported back to MS-13 leadership in El Salvador. With this plea, we have ensured that one of the most dangerous defendants we have seen in Nassau

County will be held accountable for his reprehensible behavior.”

“Yesterday, defendant David Sosa Guevara pled guilty to ordering the murder of Angel Soler and planning the murder of another person. As victims were discovered, law enforcement continued their in-depth sweeping investigations to bring this defendant and others to justice for these brutal murders,” said Nassau County Police Department Commissioner Patrick Ryder. “I would like to praise and thank all of the investigators and their agencies for their diligence and hard work during these investigations".

“As a leader among MS-13 Hollywood Clique in Long Island, Sosa-Guevara pled guilty to ordering the murder of Angel Soler and putting out a hit on another,” said Peter C. Fitzhugh, special agent in charge of HSI New York.  “HSI’s partnerships with Long Island law enforcement continues to lead to more MS-13 gang members off the street, and more being prosecuted for their heinous acts as members of the gang.  We will continue to move forward in our effort to not just rid Long Island of MS-13, but of any transnational gang that seeks to wreak havoc in our communities.”

D.A. Singas said that Sosa-Guevara was the head of the Hollywood Clique of MS-13 on Long Island and directed its members to collaborate with the Sailors Clique on Long Island, another violent sect of MS-13. As the head of the Hollywood Clique, the defendant ordered the murder of 15-year old Angel Soler. Acting in concert with members of the clique, he ordered his fellow gang members to kill Soler while he himself was not present at the murder.

Soler was murdered on July 21, 2017, in Nassau County. The victim’s body was mutilated – bearing injuries consistent with the use of a machete – and he suffered blunt force trauma to the head. Soler was left buried until his remains were discovered under cement on Oct.19, 2017, in a remote wooded area in Roosevelt, just south of the Southern State Parkway.

Additionally, Sosa-Guevara, acting in concert with others, planned the murder of an alleged MS-13 member who was believed to have been disloyal to the gang and ordered the movement of weapons to Maryland for the purposes of that murder.

According to Sosa-Guevara’s allocution in court, MS-13’s Hollywood and Sailor cliques conducted criminal activities that included murder, assault, drug trafficking, money transfers, member movements, member punishment and rival gang retribution. Sosa-Guevara admitted he reported to gang leadership in El Salvador and the United States, and the Hollywood clique’s profits were shared with gang leaders in El Salvador.

The defendant was arrested by members of the Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad in Annapolis, MD, on Nov. 9, 2017.

This case is being prosecuted by Deputy Chief Jared Rosenblatt of DA Singas’ Major Offense Bureau, Deputy Chief Veronica Guariglia and Senior Assistant District Attorney Charles Dunn of the Special Operations and Narcotics Bureau. The defendant is represented by Paul Delle, Esq.
